PARTY MIT OCHOSA |
 |
 |
28. Februar
Ochosa (Eva Meyer-Keller and Rico Repotente) is the brightest new face in Berlin's music scene. They combine the electro sound made popular by other Berlin residents such as Chicks on Speed and Peaches with punk rock like the White Stripes, with whom they share their good manners and the lack of a bass player, along with introducing their own brand of minimal hip hop. They also claim to be the biggest Prince-fans. Combining elements of electronics and improvisation with pop sensibility, Ochosa's big beats and deadpan vocals set them apart from the typical berlin sound. Although often dubbed as “electroclash“, the band takes pride in playing their instruments (for live shows they are backed by drummer/keyboarder Oli Benn), taking their live sets through soaring guitar solos, jazzy keyboards, garage punk, Hip Hop, Neil Sedaka-like ballads and even country, while staying away from the stereotypes these stiles might imply.

This is much more than a music nerd with a rhythm box standing behind a model - it's heartfelt electronic pop with a twist of irony and basketball. Simply put: Ochosa is why people trainspot.
Nicht zu vergessen: die Fuckbuddy dancers!
