doublelucky productions

Biography

For many years Chris Kondek and Christiane Kühl, along with a changing team of artists, have been developing performances about the invisible operating systems of the global present. Since 2017 they have been working as doublelucky productions. High finance, mobile phones, bots and B-movies are both the topics and the tools of what they do. In the best tradition of didactic plays they do not just speak about the world, they concretely interact with it. Situations are created on stage making it possible to experience digital infrastructures in real time – their growing power over us as much as our willing cooperation. Their stock market performance “Dead Cat Bounce” and their analysis of the financial crisis “Money – It Came From Outer Space” have been awarded prizes from the Goethe Institut and the 3sat theatre channel. The hacker performance “Anonymous P.” as well as the photo and video installation “SHOOT OUT. Tauschen, Jagen, Klauen, Besetzen, Saufen, Verzicht” (together with Klaus Weddig) were seen at HAU Hebbel am Ufer as part of the festival “Marx‘Gespenster”.
