Natasha A. Kelly

Biography

Natasha A. Kelly holds a doctorate in communications studies and sociology, and specialises in (post) colonialism and feminism. Born in London and raised in Germany, she regards herself as an “academic activist”, always combining theory and practice. She expresses this both in and through the arts. In addition, she has taught at numerous private and public institutions in Germany, Austria, and the USA and has been active in the black community for many years. Her latest publications include “Schwarzer Feminismus. Grundlagentexte” (Unrast Publishing House 2019) and “The Comet. Afrofuturism 2.0” (Orlanda Publishing House 2020). Since 2015, in cooperation with HAU Hebbel am Ufer, she has organized the event series “M(a)y Sister” in honor of the Afro-German artist and activist May Ayim.
