The history of Germany is inseparably linked with migration.

“Kein schöner Archiv” documents the Intangible Heritage of the post-migrant society. Intangible Heritage lives from the repetition and reproduction of living culture. It cannot simply be boxed off in a display case. The cultural anthropologist Michael Annoff and the artist and curator Nuray Demir gather common stories and traditions that would otherwise be forgotten, celebrating them with their guests and the audience. For “Berlin bleibt!” there are three new editions of “Kein schöner Archiv”, familiar from the FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum. On each evening Annoff and Demir document practices that influence everyday life in Berlin 2019. Not only will life in the local neighbourhood, competition in grade school and Berlin city marketing be discussed in the events, but everyday practices will be archived for the future. This material will then be available to see in a workroom set up for the festival. Anyone interested can look over Michael Annoff’s and Nuray Demir’s shoulders at the opening and at the Kiez Party.
