Martin Clausen und Kollegen

Gespräch haben / Ohne Worte

Part of “Performing Arts Festival Berlin 2017"

  • Performance
German /  approx. 80 minutes

In the middle of our society marked by dating and coaching, Martin Clausen and colleagues celebrate formal and informal, functional and dysfunctional forms of communication. When conversation is no longer possible and mutual misunderstanding, breaches of trust and defense-mechanisms take over, the protagonists continue the exchange in a different form. What follows are savage fights, futile and more or less successful attempts to animate limp bodies – and approaches ranging from the heartfelt to the erotic, with diverging conceptions of closeness. They practice tragicomic approaches, keeping and losing contacts – and quite consciously affirm non-examining, non-knowing, non-capability as an indispensable part of interpersonal interaction.
