Fafswag is an artistic collective based in Auckland who, in its performances, combines LGBTIQ* lifestyles with Pacific Islanders cultures and celebrates them through Voguing Balls. “Fa'aafa” – one of the terms for a recognized third gender in this culture – combines Samoan oral traditions and the adornment of voguing with movement, sound and the poetry of the award-winning New Zealand poet Tusiata Avia.
