The city is still being fought over, above all in Kreuzberg. Sure, it belongs to everyone, but who are they all? Are they the investors, the landlords, the homeowners, the tenants, the politicians? And what does “belonging” mean? If you are a renter, are you then allowed to say: “It is my flat” or: “It is my city”? What about if you can’t afford the rent anymore and you have to move to another neighbourhood or even another city? Together with the students from the Hector Peterson School, the collective L. A. Müller is looking into the question of whom Berlin belongs to. How can we “fight” for Berlin, and what does it mean to put up resistance? And what would Kreuzberg actually look like if no one had ever fought for it?
