May Ayim describes life between two cultures metaphorically using the symbol of a “walnut mango tree.” On the occasion of the 60th birthday of the poet, academic and activist, the HAU series “M(a)y Sister” takes place in cooperation with Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. Afro-German women* from NRW develop performances that pose questions of belonging, exclusion and home.
