Short films by young female filmmakers from two Mpower film groups, thematising urban life and housing. How is space appropriated? What makes a house a home and what makes a city liveable? How dense is Berlin and how thin can a wall be? The girls and young women visualize their perspectives and narratives, developing short films from script to post-production. In collaboration with professional filmmakers and film students they get whatever they need: film advice, support with the shooting and editing, or access to technical equipment. This gives rise to unconventional documentary portraits, characterized by a personal style and particular film aesthetics and narrative forms as well as by the interconnections in the group.
