Born in Austria in 1967, Ramin Sadighi moved with his family to Teheran shortly before the Islamic Revolution in 1979. In 1999 he founded the Iranian music label “Hermes Records,” which trades under the slogan “Music for Music.” The producer has released dozens of albums with new Iranian music – for instance music by the most important tar and setar player, Hossein Alīzādeh. For its achievements in Iranian music the label received the Professional Excellence Award from the world music expo WOMEX.
For HAU the event series “Plattenspieler" Thomas Meinecke invites guests on a regular basis.
