HAU Hebbel am Ufer’s Hygiene Policy for the Opening of its Theaters to Audiences

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office.

Our auditorium plans for the September / October programme are in a chequerboard pattern – this means every second seat remains free. Once you have taken your seats, masks are no longer compulsory. Depending on the development of the current pandemic situation, we reserve the right to put more tickets on sale and/or reintroduce a mask requirement during the event. We will keep you informed about this on our website.

Hygienic Measures

The general distancing rules are to be maintained in all buildings.

There are dispensers with disinfectant at all entrances and exits. Guests and staff are requested to sanitise their hands before entering the buildings. Signs will be posted to further communicate the general hygiene rules.

Throughout the building, all persons over the age of 6 are required to wear a medical mask. The mask can be removed after taking the seat, but not before the start of the event. Evening service and admission staff will check that the medical mask is worn. Guests without a medical mask will be denied access to the buildings.

Visitors and staff members who have clinical symptoms of COVID-19 – such as fever, cough, sniffles, sore throat, shortness of breath, headaches, aching limbs, gastrointestinal problems, weakness and/or diminished sense of smell or taste, or those who have recently been in contact with infected persons, are requested not to come to HAU Hebbel am Ufer.

Before the start of each event, all hand-contact surfaces in all publicly accessible rooms are cleaned.
 

Admission

Admission is only possible upon presentation of a personalised daily negative test result in connection with an identification document. 

There is no possibility of on-site testing.

The negative test result may be replaced by a certificate of vaccination with a vaccine against COVID-19 approved by the European Union, the last required vaccination of which was at least 14 days ago, or certification of a positive PCR test result for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection more than six months ago in conjunction with at least one vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by the European Union at least 14 days ago, or proof of a positive PCR test result for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection at least 28 days and no more than six months ago.

Upon admission, the contact details of the visitors will be recorded via the Corona warning app or manually via a handout. After the 14-day retention period, the contact data will be deleted or destroyed.

Admission to the buildings starts half an hour before the performance begins. There will beno late admission.

As there may be delays in checking certificates and recording contact details, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start so that the events can begin on time.

The checking of tickets will be electronic to avoid physical contact. Tickets will be scanned with as much distance as possible.

All staff members in contact with the public are fully vaccinated, recovered or tested on a daily basis.

There is a determined maximum number of people allowed in each publicly accessible room. The staff at the entrance and inside the building will oversee the flow of visitors into the building and guide, if necessary, to avoid any congestion or high density of people on the way to the theater hall, and specifically, that the permitted number of people per room is not exceeded.

Visitors are requested to move directly to their seats after the hall doors have opened.


Ventilation

The ventilation systems in all halls have been converted to 100% fresh air in the supply air. The recommended fresh air volume flow of 25 m3/h/person is clearly exceeded.

The ventilation system is set to maximum output to ensure the fastest possible exchange of room air. In support of this, all possibilities of cross-ventilation and opening the ventilation shutters are taken as far as the onstage activities and the weather permit.
 

Exit

After the end of the event, visitors should leave the building in an orderly manner and in the most direct way possible. If possible, they should leave the hall in sections and avoid forming groups. They will be assisted in this by the evening service and the admission staff.
 

Gastronomy

HAU1 and HAU2’s bars and WAU remain closed.

WAU – Das Wirtshaus am Ufer

The Wirtshaus am Ufer – WAU for short – on the ground floor of HAU2 has been run as the restaurant and café of HAU Hebbel am Ufer since 2005. The WAU is currently closed.
