HAU Hebbel am Ufer’s Hygiene Policy for the Opening of its Theaters to Audiences

(Effective 24 August 2020)

Ticket sales

Tickets can be purchased online or during the day at the box office. The box office will be closed in the evenings prior to the event. Online purchases can be made up until the given event begins.

At the box office, distancing of at least 1.5 meters will be maintained with floor markings. The staff are trained to be sure that the box office foyer does not exceed capacity. Guests must wear a mouth/nose mask in the foyer.

For online purchases, first and last name, complete address, e-mail address and telephone number are required from all guests and will be stored for a period of four weeks following the event. For box-office purchases, the staff will enter this information into the booking system. The operator of the ticketing system guarantees that the data gathered will not be transmitted to other databases and will be automatically deleted four weeks after the event.

Tickets are personalized and non-transferable. There is open seating.

After purchasing tickets, guests will receive a service email in advance of the event containing all pertinent information (hygiene rules, waiting conditions, entrance, exit, no late admission, no coat check, drinks, etc.).

Hygienic Measures

The general distancing rules are to be maintained in all buildings.

Hand-sanitizer dispensers are placed at every entrance and exit. Guests are requested to sanitize their hands before entering. Signs will be posted advising them of the general hygiene rules.

Guests will wear a mouth-nose maskthroughout the building whenever they are not in their seat. This will be monitored by the service and admission staff. Guests without a mouth-nose mask will not be allowed to enter.

Guests who have clinical symptoms of COVID-19 – such as fever, cough, sniffles, sore throat, shortness of breath, headaches, aching limbs, gastrointestinal problems, weakness and/or diminished sense of smell or taste – or those who have recently been in contact with infected persons, are requested not to come to HAU Hebbel am Ufer.

Before every event begins, all hand-contact surfaces in publicly accessible spaces will be sanitized.

Entry/Exit Guidance and Spatial Planning

Before entering, guests will wait outside the building. Visitors are advised to dress for the weather while waiting. The formation of groups will be prevented by floor markings and barriers.

A person from the admission staff will make a brief announcement reminding the guests about the rules and regulations.

There will be no late entry.

The checking of tickets will be electronic to avoid physical contact. Tickets will be scanned with as much distance as possible.

Guests are required to go directly to their seats.

The bars, HAU Kiosk and coat check are closed.

The staff at the entrance and inside the building will oversee the movement of the guests into the building and guide if necessary. The flow of guests will be monitored so that there will not be any congestion or formation of groups on the way to the theater hall.

The admission staff will control the procession into the hall and seat selection.

Seating

There is a distance of 1.5 meters between each available seat.

There is a distance of at least 3 meters from the stage, and of at least 6 meters from people onstage who are moving, dancing, speaking or singing intensely or excessively.

Only single seating will be available.

There is open seating.

Seats are either fixed to the floor, or their placement is marked. Seats may not be moved. This will be monitored by the staff.

Exit Management

After the event ends, the admission staff will make a brief announcement. Guests will be advised to put their mouth-nose mask back on, leave the hall section by section, and exit the building directly and in an orderly fashion.

Gastronomy

HAU1 and HAU2’s bars and WAU are closed.

Starting one hour before events begin at HAU1 and HAU2, drinks will be available for purchase outside, which may be consumed outside or taken into the hall.
