Alexandre Fournier

Biography

Alexandre Fournier, originally from New Caledonia, arrived in France at the age of 17. He began by attending a preparatory school at the Lomme Circus Arts Centre near Lille, then the Cannes preparatory school, Piste d'Azur, the École Nationale des Arts du Cirque de Rosny-sous-Bois (ENACR), and then the Académie Fratellini. After starting out as a juggler, Alexandre became a lifter and floor acrobat at the ENACR, when he met Mathias.
 

Matias’ and Alexandre’s work is based on gesticulatory acrobatic movement from which the circus acrobatics leap out with gusto. Their work is intensely close, and incorporates dance movements too.
