Andrea Božić

Biography

Andrea Bozic (HR/ NL) studied modern dance and obtained a degree in Comparative Literature and English Language at the University of Zagreb. In the Netherlands, she graduated from the School For New Dance Development and holds the Amsterdam Masters of Choreography from the Theater School Amsterdam. Her interdisciplinary work takes the form of performance, installation, and short films. It combines the conceptual with the sensorial, exposes paradoxical situations and asks questions about issues such as the effects of attention and imagination, the perception of the present, the politics of viewing, the presentation of reality and the distribution of authorship. Her work has been presented at numerous international festivals and theatre venues. From 2009 to 2012, she was artist in residence at the International Choreographic Arts Centre Amsterdam. She's collaborated closely with visual artist Julia Willms and music composer Robert Pravda since 2005 with whom she founded the interdisciplinary platform Tilt in 2009. Since 2012, Andrea has been artistic advisor at DasArts and mentor at the Amsterdam Master of Choreography.
