Christine Birkle

Biography

Christine Birkle studied Fashion Design at the HdK Berlin. In 1993 she founded her own label “Hut up” in Berlin and presented her first clothing and home-wares collection in 1996. She created every year 2–3 Collections, which she presented in Paris and Berlin. Since 2004 she worked with Sasha Waltz and created the costumes for “Impromptus”, “Dido & Aeneas”, “Fantasie”, “Medea”, the choreographic opera “Matsukaze” and “Women”. In December 2016 she died at the age of 55.
