Dorothée Munyaneza

Biography

Dorothée Munyaneza is a Rwandan-British musician, author and choreographer currently based in Marseilles. After studying music at the Jonas Foundation UK in London and at Canterbury University, she composed music for the film “Hotel Rwanda” (2004) by Terry George, featured on the album “Anatomic” (2005) by Afro Celt Sound System and in 2010 released her first solo album. In 2013 she founded her own company, Kadidi, and presented “Samedi Détente” in 2014 at the Théâtre de Nîmes. The show then toured extensively, with some 100 performances in France and abroad. “Unwanted”, her second show, was shown at Tanz im August in 2017. She has worked with among others Nan Goldin, Mark Tompkins, Robyn Orlin, Rachid Ouramdane, Maud Le Pladec and Alain Buffard.
