Friedrich Kirschner

Biography

Friedrich Kirschner is an animator, visual artist and software developer. He uses computer games and real-time animation techniques as the basis for animated short films and interactive installations.

His works have been shown at numerous international animation festivals and exhibitions, including the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, the Laboral Gameworld Ausstellung in Gijon, the American Museum of the Moving Image in New York, the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Seoul Media Art Biennale. He was director of the Machinima Film Festival in New York in 2008. Since February 2012 he has been professor of digital media at the Puppetry Department at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin.
