Invisible Playground

Biography

Invisible Playground is a group made up of artists, designers, and scholars who develop games for cities. Using site-specific street, audio, and transmedia games, the team turns the city into a platform for play. Site-specific means that social dynamics, technical infrastructures and real architecture are used as the basis of the games. The participants get access to the playgrounds concealed in their own ordinary surroundings. Invisible Playground works on small and large projects with theatres, museums and festivals, holding regular workshops themselves. They also curate the Playpublik Festival (Berlin 2011 and 2012, 2014 in Kraków). Since its beginnings in 2009, the group has continued to develop further, forming a collective with six fixed members. Invisible Playground is Jennifer Aksu, Daniel Boy, Josa Gerhard, Anna Hentschel, Christiane Hütter and Sebastian Quack.
