Mai Wegener




Mai Wegener lives and works as a psychoanalyst in Berlin. In 1998 she and some other colleagues opened the Psychoanalytic Salon Berlin, where Lacan and Freud, art and culture, practice and theory are debated. She publishes and teaches in the area between psychoanalysis and cultural studies, and has been a guest professor at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne (2008) and at the Centre for Literature and Cultural Research in Berlin (2001-2005). In 2001 she obtained her PhD under the supervision of Friedrich A. Kittler with the thesis “Neuronen und Neurosen. Der psychische Apparat bei Freud und Lacan. Ein historisch-theoretischer Versuch zu Freuds Entwurf von 1895”, which was published in 2004.
