Patrick Wengenroth

Patrick Wengenroth (*1976) lives and works in Berlin as a director, actor and translator. The newspaper taz has called him “the German theatre’s further education programme.” In 2003 he developed the theatre-show format “Planet Porno” for Theaterdiscounter in Berlin, which he had co-founded and which later found its artistic home at HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Alongside his works at various German theatres he has also been regularly directing for many years at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, where he has been presenting “Wengenroths Autorenklub” for the last year and a half–a literary salon-show format. He has a long-standing working relationship with the label Staatsakt and its founder Maurice Summen, as well as with the band “Ja, Panik” and the musician Andreas Spechtl. In 2016 he and Maurice Summen will show the music theatre play “Der Spielemacher – Ein Fussical”.
