Séverine Marguin

Biography

Séverine Marguin is a sociologist of art and space. For her dissertation she researched artist collectives in Paris and Berlin, creating a cartographical archive of project spaces in Berlin since 1970. In her postdoctoral projects – at the Excellence Cluster Image Knowledge Gestaltung at Humboldt University in Berlin and at the University of the Arts in Berlin – she turned to the topic of space and knowledge production. As an ethnographer of science she conducted experimental field research on the effects of space on research practices. In the autumn of 2015 she coordinated and composed the multimedia e-publication from the Leipzig cultural-political congress “kultur | standort. bestimmung”. She is now active in the special research field “Refiguration of Spaces” at the Technical University in Berlin, doing interdisciplinary research on methods of research on space.
