Thabiso Heccius Pule

Biography

Thabiso Heccius Pule is a dancer, choreographer, and events and project manager. His first experiences with dance started in 1998 as part of the Soweto Community Dance Project under the direction of Carly Dibakwane. Since 2003 he has been developing his own choreographies, which have been invited to numerous international festivals such as Montpellier Danse (France), Action Dance (Morocco), Trotra Festival (Madagascar) and the Festival of Carthage. In 2008, on the initiative of the South African company Inzalo Dance and Theater, he coordinated the programme for the CCDP (Choreographic Community Development Programme). From 2009 to 2011 he worked with the company Orange Blossom for various educational projects with schools in Morocco and South Africa. On the occasion of the 2011 UN Climate Summit in Durban and on the initiative of the Goethe Institut he developed the project “CAN DO IT!” with Hector Thami Manekehla. The work “P.E.N.I.S P.O.L.I.T.I.C.S” was created in 2012, also with Manekehla, and has been shown at festivals in South Africa, Israel, Palestine and Spain.
