Valérie Castan studied for two years as a dancer at the CNDC (Centre National de Danse Contemporaine) in Angers between 1986 and 1888. Her work as a performing artist was established through different performance experiences with various choreographers. Amongst others she works often with Berlin based choreographer Antonia Baehr. For Baehr´s works Castan performed in "Un Après-Midi" (An Afternoon) in 2005 in Paris and in a duo work "Merci" in 2006. In 2013 Castan took part in Baehr´s work "Abecedarium Bestiarium" as an artistic collaboration, which was also presented in HAU Hebbel am Ufer.
