Zoë Claire Miller

Biography

Zoë Claire Miller originally comes from Boston (USA) and today lives and works in Berlin. At the University of Heidelberg she studied philosophy, anthropology and Romance studies before going to the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. In 2010 she finished her studies in sculpture. Today she works as an artist, curator and event organiser. Miller co-founded the Berlin Art Prize in 2012, an independent award for artists in Berlin. In addition she was the director of the project spaces of Galerie Europa and Salon Mutlu from 2010 to 2014. In 2015 she was a member of the initiative AG Zeit, which worked to improve cultural politics in Berlin. She is a member of the board at bbk Berlin (berufsverband bildender künstler*innen). In her role as a sculptor she mainly works with ceramics and is dedicated to questions of collaboration, materiality and negative space. Her works have been exhibited internationally, and in 2017 she received a grant from the cultural division of the Berlin Senate.
