The spectrum of digital performance projects is wide. In this workshop, HAU Hebbel am Ufer wants to offer insight into the development of a selection of works that are already connected to HAU or will be associated with HAU in the future. The respective artists will describe current issues in the development process and exchange ideas with invited respondents.
For this workshop, Roman Senkl and Nils Corte from minus.eins are creating a digital meeting place together with HAU Hebbel am Ufer. The VR platform mozilla hubs enables artists and audiences to meet and exchange in 3D spaces. In their work, Senkl and Corte explore the possibilities of digital spaces for artistic and discursive formats. The Mycological Twist “Quadrat Sampling E-Ecologies”
A Workshop and discourse format exploring video games infrastructures as spaces for social encounters. Many games reproduce social prejudices and power relations. The artists want to break through these patterns through a subversive practice.

App as interactive fiction game that makes tangible the mechanisms of manipulation and calculated aims of the so-called New Right. It calculated goals of the so-called New Right and thus does preventive work against right-wing radicalisation on the net.

An Commons platform as open toolset for digital-analog theater shows. On the platform, users can combine various software and hardware to create extensive scenarios, such as theatrical live games and interactive and digitally enhanced performances.

Anna Fries & Malu Peeters “Belly of the Beast”
A VR performance on cyberfeminism, monster theory and representations of pregnancy and motherhood. The digital body essay is an invitation into the pregnant belly of the monster. The two artists already approached "becoming something else" last year in a digital residency:

Derin Cankaya & Saverio Cantoni “Pixelrave”
An Online rave connecting underrepresented heroes of rave subculture from different parts of the world. Cankaya and Canton creating the radical inclusiveness of dancefloors in a virtual deterritorialized location. In its digital dimension “Pixelrave” will gather non-normative aesthetics to de-construct extractive digital spaces.”
The project began in 2020 as part of the Digital Lab residency at HAU Hebbel am Ufer.

On the 25.3 from 19:00 to 20:00 and on the 26.3. from 10:00 to 11:00, we welcome you to get to know the room and test out its features. A tech-team will be present and offering support. We strongly advise that you acquaint yourself with the virtual environment on one of these dates so that the events can take place as smoothly as possible.

On the days of the events from 5pm, a tech-support-team will welcome you and assist you with a smooth start.
Technical Requirements:
To participate, you need access to a current laptop or computer with a stable internet connection. Participation requires a current laptop or computer with a stable internet connection. It works best with the Chrome browser. Safari browsers are currently not optimised for online 3D applications.
Interactive participation additionally requires a headset (headphones with microphone). This helps avoid noise and feedback. You may also use VR glasses if you have them, but they are not required for participation. Make sure you are using a WebVR-compatible browser. Make sure your VR glasses are up to date. Test the WebVR in your browser before the event begins.
Discord:
Discord can be used to communicate either as a standalone app or from within a browser. Register using your email address. During the event, you can chat with other guests on our Discord channel and get support in case you experience any problems. The channels are called: #spyonme (for the text channel for sharing) and #help (for support from staff)
