Franςois Tusques

Biography

Franςois Tusques, born in 1938, introduced “Free Jazz” in 1965 with an LP of the same name into the French music scene. But after May 1968 this music appeared to him elitist. He soon founded the “Intercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra”, which developed an entirely new version of musical globalization with immigrant and international musicians. Tusques has also played with Anthony Braxton, Don Cherry, Alain Silva, Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Aldo Romano and Beb Guérin. In recent years he has been extremely active in a series of solo and duet projects with improvised music.
