Biography

Since 2010 hoelb/hoeb (Barbara Hölbling/Mario Höber) have been working collectively with a transdisciplinary project team to realize zones of resonance and spaces for thinking and questioning. This is the context in which the performative installation “close link” emerged, which deals with the close relations between patients in persistent vegetative states and persons with serious impairments, which was realised at steirische herbst in 2013. The series “training – Spielstätte für einen inklusiven Humanismus” focused on aesthetic heteronomy and the perceptual strategies of the visually impaired through interaction. “training” was shown at the Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst in Leipzig as part of Travesty for Advanced Performers. At the performance festival “Wunder der Prärie” in Mannheim in September 2015 there was a particular focus on the topic of dementia due to the local participants. The current performative exhibition and installation project “LOST INN” (brut Wien/Jänner 2017) deals with the phenomenon of grieving, showing different grieving processes in a discursive context.
