Who Owns the World?

A Programme Series on Class Relations

Social injustice, unequal opportunities in the education system, and stories of decline: Class society never went away. For the upcoming season at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, we will explore our interest in why the today much discussed concept of class is not just about individual matters of social origin – it’s about the distribution of property in society as a whole. Theatre productions, (online) performances, and discursive events will take a look at labour and production relations, discuss distribution battles and strike movements in the face of increasingly precarious working conditions, and deal with struggles for the socialisation of public goods. The programme series of “Who Owns the World?” begins with the new HAU production “Die große Klassenrevue” by Christiane Rösinger and an opening panel with social scientist Oliver Nachtwey, political scientist Eleonora Roldán Mendívil, and Silvia Habekost of the Berliner Krankenhausbewegung. The focus will continue throughout the season with co-productions by Interrobang, Adrian Figueroa, Gob Squad, Sheena McGrandles and friends, and much more.
