Tim Etchells

“the continuous activity of living people”

Part of “Alles ist Material. 20 Years of ‘Postdramatic Theatre’”

Afterwards: Talk with Tim Etchells and Mieke Matzke (She She Pop) / Moderation: Annemie Vanackere

English / approx. 90 Min.

Part essay, part intimate reflection, Tim Etchells’ “the continuous activity of living people” uses the occasion of 20 years since the publication of Hans-Thies Lehmann’s “Postdramatic Theatre” to talk about the political landscape and artistic ambitions that gave rise to the group Forced Entertainment and its peers. From a pluralistic understanding of theatre via its connection to the UK Live Art scene, performance and visual arts, Etchells charts a personal, nuanced version of the postdramatic landscape.
