6th Dance Education Biennale

One Hundred Twists & Turns

  • Dance

More than 100 students from eight German and five international educational institutions in the area of dance present choreographies with a vocabulary ranging from classical ballet to contemporary dance. The two evenings mark the start of the 6th Dance Education Biennale. Under the title “Dancing in the Street. Was bewegt Tanz?” the Biennale 2018 focuses on the reciprocal relationship between dance and social and political themes. It is a working platform meant to serve the exchange and networking of students and teachers with artists and institutions. At the public performances students in the third and fourth year of their education will dance pieces that take up artistically the theme of the Biennale. Alongside the German educational institutions, guests have been invited from educational centres in Egypt, Belgium, Iran, Senegal, and the USA.
