Wang Ramirez

EVERYNESS

  • Tanz im August

In “EVERYNESS“, Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez achieve the appearance of zero gravity and weightlessness through an extraordinary degree of body control. As in their previous hit Borderline, they employ a wire rope technique which is used for fight choreographies in Asian martial arts films. The two dancers create expressive poetic imagery in this innovative piece urban dance theatre. With “EVERYNESS“, they explore the many facets of human relationships. The duo’s unique movement style has deep roots in hip hop and is influenced by contemporary idioms, ballet and martial arts. With this utterly distinctive language of dance, Wang Ramirez have caused an international sensation: they’ve been awarded a Bessie Award, and were involved in Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour as dancers and choreographers. Honji Wang and Sébastian Ramirez met each other at a Berlin dance studio. At Tanz im August, the duo can finally be seen again back where their artistic career together all began.
