The Italian Alessandro Sciarroni is a performer and choreographer with a background in the visual arts and years of theatre practice. Will you still love me tomorrow? is his research project exploring the concepts of struggle, steadiness and resistance. UNTITLED_I will be there when you die is the second chapter in the series, and is a performative and choreographic meditation on the passing of time. Executed by four jugglers, it is a reflection on the art of manipulating objects. Here we encounter the pure poetry that emerges from a concentration on practice, rules, discipline and commitment. The idea was to strip circus art of its stereotypes and to explore it as a language. The experience is mesmerizing, almost hypnotic.
In Joseph Sciarroni plays live with Chatroulette, a social network that puts people from all over the world in contact with one another at random – like a magician’s top hat generating white rabbits. Sciarroni is alone on the stage with his back to the audience for the entire performance, seeking his own image. Where is Joseph?
