Alexandra Bachzetsis

Private: Wear a mask when you talk to me

  • Tanz im August

How are gender and sexual identities reproduced through everyday behaviours? And where does this reproduction fail? In her solo work, choreographer Alexandra Bachzetsis pushes gender performances to their post-queer limits by drawing on a variety of artists and bodily practices, from the 1960s works of the American choreographer Trisha Brown, via the German photographer Marianne Wex, to the oriental dances of drag queens,  tness workouts, Western yoga practices, and the poses of football and porn.
