HYPERDARK – “If the kids are divid:ed …”

In “HYPERDARK,” andcompany&Co. and Elisa Aseva examine the omnipresent political confusion of our time – between excessive demands, manipulation and digital acceleration. In a mix of lecture-concert and live radio play, the theatre collective and artists from various disciplines ask how it is still possible to think, breathe and act in this hyperpolitics.

What’s new? Everyone is confused, hyperactive, burnt out and constantly agitated at the same time. So are andcompany&Co.! Unfortunately, this general state hardly leads to mutual understanding. On the contrary. Is “confusionism” the calculated work of right-wing and/or super-rich villains or the sabre-rattling of the zeitgeist? Are there still people behind it or are they rather machines that have taken on a life of their own? With ‘HYPERDARK’, the Berlin theatre collective andcompany&Co. has developed a hybrid of lecture concert and live radio play. Together with the author and poet Elisa Aseva, the animation artist Hila Flashkes and the visual artist Raul Walch, they ask: When did this “hyperpolitics” start? What happened that suddenly not only the personal is supposed to be political, but also the political is supposed to be personal? Has it ruined us? And above all: how on earth can we work, think and breathe in such a time without contributing to the general confusion? Together they lead us deep into the forest of a wandering present: where is right, where is left, where is up, where is down ...?
