Ball meets Battle – Voguing meets Popping, House, Hip Hop. For the first time in Berlin there will be a mix between the two dance scenes of Urban and Voguing. For “Berlin Is Burning” – loosely based on the voguing cult film “Paris Is Burning” – HAU2 will be transformed for a weekend into an energetic battle arena, in which participating dancers will compete in various categories. Germany’s two urban dance festivals, Funkin’ Stylez and Berlin Voguing Out, have become (sub)cultural junctions for the international dance scene in Europe and provide space for participants regardless of background, age and gender. The jury is made up of European pioneers from different scenes as well as New York legends, all invited to facilitate a generation-spanning exchange and to further develop the local and international dance scene. One highlight of the weekend is that the winners will qualify for the Funkin’ Stylez Finale in the summer of 2016.
On December 12 we will live stream the event "Berlin Voguing Out" to the global Voguing community starting at 8pm until approx. 1am (local Central European Time / UTC+1). The livestream can be accessed via the website of HAU Hebbel am Ufer: www.hebbel-am-ufer.de/live
