Break @WAU / End-of-Season Party

With DJ set by MHF and Karaokee<3ies

  • Music

As a theatre maker, dramaturge, and currently assistant in the programme team at HAU, MHF (aka Marci Hilma Friebe) is particularly interested in the live moment and its possibility. MHF has already worked on various performances and theatre projects in which music and its manipulation are consistently used as a central element. MHF studied performing arts in Hildesheim and was a member of the DJ collective Disk.o during that time, which organized a monthly party series of the same name. Together with DJ Œ and Tome, MHF launched the hybrid 12-hour live radio event “31000Hz” in 2023. Further gigs followed at venues including the “State of the Art Festival” and the Theaterhaus Hildesheim. MHF’s sets range from breaks and bass-heavy rhythms to club experiments, featuring textures that span from pop to ambient.

Karaoke is a communal and playful activity. The voice becomes an instrument of affection, a form of creative expression – and an outlet for sorrow, longing, and heartbreak. On this evening, pop stars, guilty pleasures, and big emotions will carry us through the night. Let’s sing, dance, and celebrate the start of the summer break at HAU together. Everyone is welcome!
