In 2022, rapper Ebow released her fourth album “Canê” – Kurdish for “darling” or “soul”. Ebow consciously wanders among ambivalence and contradictions, holding them out in the open; on one hand flexing with Prada bags and fast cars, and on the other, a raised fist against homophobia, sexism and racism and in favour of a free Kurdistan. The sound, meanwhile, oscillates between booming beats and emotional R&B arrangements.
