After more than 30 years of working together, artists collective Gob Squad tackles the big questions: love, work, loss and solidarity. “Are You With Us?” is a photo-shoot, group therapy, performance nightmare and a relentless, humorous celebration of collective relationships.
What happens when you’ve been together over 30 years? When you know each other inside out and your private and professional lives have become inseparable? When you have grown, matured and aged together, shared relationships, children and losses, an office and artistic visions and produced over 50 pieces of work? When you have travelled the world together, shared highs and lows … and you still haven’t had enough?
You go for counselling, get yourself a life coach. You try to take stock and settle old scores. You stir things up and take each other apart. And you ask yourselves and your audience all the questions you never dared to ask. “Are You With Us?” is half group therapy, half performance nightmare, and a celebration of togetherness.
