How can the internet be understood as a space of possibility beyond the structures of major tech corporations? How can an open and decentralised web be designed? And what can we learn from technologies of the past? Together with artists, theorists, and activists, HAU is looking for alternatives to the platformised internet. At the end of the two-day Artist Lab, we will celebrate with a public tool party, subjecting old and new software to a practical test.

Participating artists are Janne Kummer, Lislis Passing (Heart of Code), Luna Nane, Philip Steimel (machina eX), Leoni Voegelin and Rodolfo Acosta Castro. Tool Party experts include Moving Target Collective (Amelie Goldfuß, Natalie Sontopski).
