“1+1=1” art group is a collaborative project by the Belarusian artists Mikhail Gulin and Antonina Slobodchikova, which emerged in 2005 when the artists performed their first collaborative action at the centre of Minsk. Working mainly individually, they perform together from time to time, exploring the concept of collective artistic work.

Despite the autonomous character of the installations presented in the frame of the exhibition “Every Day Is Exactly the Same”, the artworks create a space of commonality between the artists and proceed from each other.

Mikhail Gulin is a conceptual artist, curator of exhibition projects, and actionist. He was born in 1977 in Gomel. He graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Arts in 2004. His artworks were presented in galleries in Minsk, Brest, Eindhoven, Vilnius, Moscow, Warsaw, Kyiv and other cities. He lives and works in Minsk.
