The rapid social and technological change brings about enormous uncertainties with a need for explanations and sense-making but also of shaping our common future. This lecture series, the next editions of which take place at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, thrives to develop a critical perspective on the processes of transformation that our societies are currently undergoing and is inviting visionary thinkers to help us making sense of the digital society.
Eva Illouz examines emotionality in the age of digital capitalism. We are constantly confronted with visual attractions. How does this change love? Is digital technology changing the way we experience relationships? How do platforms make use of their users' emotional engagement?
