Programme

Plattenspieler with Thomas Meinecke and Alexander von Schlippenbach

Part of the HAU series “Plattenspieler”

Music

Thomas Meinecke invites various partners to talk about music, their cultural assumptions, their visual preferences and the stories that one can experience along the way. Only a few weeks after the concert by the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet, another of the founding figures of European Free Jazz is finding his way to HAU. Since the ‘60s Alexander von Schlippenbach has been appearing in alternating constellations as a pianist and band leader, arranger and composer. As Thomas Meinecke’s guest at the January edition of “Plattenspieler,” he will provide insights into musical proclivities that extend far beyond the world of improvised music.

For the HAU event series “Plattenspieler" Thomas Meinecke invites guests on a regular basis.
