Katharina Kollmann has been releasing music under the name Nichtseattle since 2017. The singer-songwriter, who grew up in Berlin, had previously released English-language music under the name Lake Felix and then began writing lyrics in German with Nichtseattle. In spring 2024, Staatsakt released the current album “Haus” with songs about precarity, class differences, being an outsider and the need for solidarity. Nichtseattle combines elements of indie rock, post-rock and slow core, with Kollmann's lyrics radiating warmth and strength without drifting into irrelevance.
