Reclaim & Remember – The Mölln Speech in Exile 2017

Commemorative event of the racist incendiary attacks in Mölln 1992

  • Dialogue
90 min.

November 23, 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the racist arson attack on the home of the Arslan family in Mölln (Schleswig-Holstein), at which 51-year-old Bahide Arslan, 10-year-old Yeliz Arslan and 14-year-old Ayşe Yilmaz were murdered. After disputes with politicians from the city of Mölln, the commemoration of the victims and their families has taken place in exile since 2013. This year it is being organized by the Initiative for the Investigation of the Murder of Burak Bektaş in close cooperation with the Arslan family and the “Freundeskreis im Gedenken an die rassistischen Brandanschläge in Mölln 1992”. Along with the Arslan family, speakers will include anti-fascist and Shoah survivor Esther Bejarano.
