Ligia Lewis works as a choreographer and performer. Troubling the stage and the body as places of stable representation, she invites frictions and ruptures into her creative process. Lewis’ recent performance trilogy that HAU presents for the first time together includes “Sorrow Swag,” performed in a saturated blue, “minor matter,” a poetic work illuminated in red, and “Water Will (in Melody),” a gothic tale set in black and white. Beyond these works, HAU will also present the durational work “Sensation 1/This Interior,” a project that was created for the visual space High Line in New York, and will now be shown on the top floor of the former Postbank tower during sun set and with a view above Berlin. The programme also includes a talk with the visual artist Wu Tsang, a concert by Twin Shadow and a new performative reading by the artist and theoretician Jota Mombaça amongst others.
