Living sculptures and animated objects populate the spaces of the theater. They turn up unexpectedly from out of an enchanted world and vanish back there again. Miet Warlop is a young visual artist from Belgium, whose intuitive way of dealing with images is strongly marked by the theater. After successful stage projects, she often does site-specific work and pieces outside of theater spaces. She develops so-called “tableaux vivants” and provides these “living images” with uncanny strains alongside their comic character. Her surprising visual scenarios are marked by a unique mixture of wit and melancholy.
