What Feminisms Are Needed?

Mit LASTESIS, Bafta Sarbo, Firoozeh Farvadin, Elif Sarican

Moderation: Margarita Tsomou

Part of “¡PROTAGONISTAS! Resistance Feminisms Revolution”

  • Dialogue
English /  English simultaneous translation /  Spanish /  Spanish simultaneous translation /  approx. 90 mins.

Feminist strategies have experienced a cultural triumph in recent years: Gender mainstreaming, quotas, and sensitivity to diversity have all arrived at central institutions. In the process, it's become clear how divergent feminisms really are: equality feminism, Black or decolonial, queer or intersectional feminism can actually be at odds with one other. The LASTESIS collective and social scientist Bafta Sarbo discuss which feminisms to dissociate ourselves from, and which ones to proactively embrace for the future.
