Anna-Verena Nosthoff

Biography

Anna-Verena Nosthoff studied philosophy, political theory, sociology and economics in London, Frankfurt a.M., Mannheim and Chapel Hill (US). She is an independent writer, philosopher, political theorist and co-editor of the journal “engage:politisch-philosophische Einmischungen”. As part of her doctoral work she deals with the contemporary relevance of early political-philosophical critiques of cybernetics. Her scholarly publications, especial those on Adorno, Levinas, Agamben and Beckett, have appeared in Cultural Politics, Invisible Culture, Zeitschrift für philosophische Literatur, Critical Legal Thinking, Culture, Theory & Critique, Public Seminar and in various collections. As an independent writer she has most recently written for the NZZ, agora42, Der blaue Reiter and Die Epilog. Together with Felix Maschewski she regularly publishes essays on the politics and economy of digital machines in the feuilleton section of the NZZ.
