Auguste Ouédraogo

Biography

Auguste Ouédraogo came to the Ensemble Le Bourgeon in Burkina Faso in 1993 and finished his dance and theatre education there in 2000. He has taken part in numerous dance workshops both at home and abroad, working with renowned dancers and choreographers such as Salia Sanou, Seydou  Boro, Opiyo Okach, Xavier Lot, Angelin Preljocaj, or Benjamin Lamarch. In 2000 he founded the company Auguste-Bienvenue with Bienvenue Bazié, which mixes contemporary and traditional dance. The group advocates for the advancement of women, in particular through the project Engagement féminin. Several pieces by the company Auguste-Bienvenue have been seen outside Burkina Faso, including “Traces” (2007), “Tourments noirs” (2009) and “Dans un s’y metre” (2009/2010).
