Biography

Begum Nawazish Ali is a well-known television moderator from Pakistan and hostess of the programme “Late Night with Begum Nawazish Ali”, which ran on various Pakistani channels from 2005 to 2007 before being cancelled under pressure from the government. In the programme the widowed military wife Ali often interviewed influential guests. The person behind Ali is the television moderator, comedian, actor and screenwriter Ali Saleem, who was born in Islamabad (Pakistan). He often includes queer and trans* roles in his work. Saleem’s current projects are the television show “The Late, Late Show with Ali Saleem” (2016) and the series “Mor Maha“ (2016), in which he plays the role of a royal eunuch.
